MONETISING AND MAXIMISING VENUE CONNECTIVITY

Ahead of the 2019 Cricket World Cup, the England Cricket Board (ECB) asked all host venues to ensure their WiFi connectivity was up to scratch. They recommended a provider – but SCCC took the bold decision to go against the grain and find a Technology Managed Service provider who could deliver their digital vision of seamless, high speed WiFi across the ground for every fan to enjoy.

STADIUM-WIDE WIFI THAT WORKS

As part of its Technology Managed Service, ITEC created a bespoke connectivity solution for SCCC that included installing seamless Aruba WiFi across the entire ground – from the stands to the car parks and bars. ITEC was the only provider able to offer a connectivity solution with a built-in window into customer behaviour, enabling the club to monetise the new system based on the data collected. IT systems, included servers and hardware, was also replaced to create an infrastructure that is consistently secure, resilient and reliable.

The changes played an integral part in the club coming top of a survey about venue experience during the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
