Jubilee Sailing Trust’s two specially-adapted tall ships, STS Lord Nelson and SV Tenacious, help the charity do amazing work, but keeping the ships afloat is expensive. Postal communications have proved to be an effective way to raise much-needed cash, but the charity found it tricky to find a partner to help run postal marketing campaigns at an affordable cost to help them compete with bigger charities – until they found ITEC.
When the Trust went out to tender for help with a new fundraising project, MailaDoc, part of the ITEC Group, stood out from the crowd by offering a low-cost, high-quality service for outbound postal communications as part of its Technology Managed Service that would give JST real value for money.
The campaign aimed to raise £15,000 in unrestricted funds. The actual amount raised was more than double the target. Two per cent of people responded to raise a whopping £38,000 – a much higher response rate than previous campaigns, but implemented at a lower cost.
