“Getting onto the framework is absolutely amazing for ITEC,” says Lisa Greenfield, Key Account Director at ITEC. “It’s great that we’ve impressed OASIS enough over the last 10 years as their Managed Print Provider that they feel we’re best placed to deliver their IT requirements.
“With ITEC’s IT Support Service and national coverage, any school that reaches out through the framework will have dedicated, comprehensive IT support that helps them educate and protect their pupils.”
Wide Area Network Connectivity
On Lot 10, ITEC primarily can provide WAN connectivity to the schools across the country. This includes paying attention to a school or academy’s geographical spread, technical needs and professional service requirements
WAN is a large network of information not based on a single location and facilitates the seamless sharing of information.
Schools can use the network to relay & store data and communicate with other users regardless of their location.
Access is granted through a virtual private network, leased lines, wireless network, mobile network or general internet access.
The ICT Goods & Services Framework
The ICT Goods & Services framework has operated since 2012 and was recalibrated in 2016.
In 2020, OCL is revamping the framework to reflect the technological developments of the last four years.
The ICT Goods & Services framework is made up of 10 lots and each lot is determined by specialism and geography.
ITEC & OASIS: a Decade Long Partnership
This step tightens bonds between ITEC and OASIS, and reflects their strong working relationship over the last decade.
ITEC supports the OASIS in Uganda charity, and in 2019 connected a remote Ugandan community to the internet with a custom-built IT classroom. This has broadened the opportunities available to the children and adults of the community.
OCL is one of the largest academy sponsors in the country and supports approximately 50 primary and secondary schools.
