Long before the global pandemic, smart-thinking businesses were looking for ways to make remote working possible for their people.
Why? Because it’s now widely recognised that remote working lowers costs, improves productivity and helps firms retain their most talented people - who no longer want or need to be chained to a desk 9-5.
ITEC is proud to have helped hundreds of businesses take the stress out of getting set up for remote working, and we thought we’d talk you through three cases in point...
Bosses at the charity called in ITEC to overhaul the IT systems, in part to make remote working more feasible.
As part of the digital transformation, ITEC Engineers set up a SharePoint intranet system so that all files and documents could be accessed from one place, even if someone was working remotely.
A Google-type search facility was included so that documents could easily and quickly be found. As well as quick links to all the charity’s key systems, the intranet was set up to include social media, the company calendar and a live newsfeed.
The changes implemented by ITEC gave freedom and flexibility to the RNRMC team. It enabled the team to work remotely, confident they can access what they need, when they need it.
We estimate that in the first five months of having the new system in place, we achieved about 40% cost savings."

2. Theatre Royal Plymouth
Theatre Royal Plymouth (TRP) is the largest and best attended regional producing theatre in the UK and the leading promoter of theatre in the South West.
Together, teams from ITEC and TRP built a vision for what a new system would deliver - and it included the opportunity for employees to work remotely.
ITEC Engineers made this possible by installing new hardware and software, rebuilding infrastructure and improving security measures, including endpoint email security.
Plus, as part of ITEC’s Technology Managed Service, all members of the theatre staff were made able to access remote IT or phone support from ITEC’s army of experts from 7AM until 7PM, seven days a week.
ITEC has help us to develop and reshape our IT infrastructure dramatically. They have been highly responsive to our day-to-day needs."

3. Prama Foundation
Prama Foundation provides much-needed care to more than 1,500 vulnerable clients across Dorset, and the organisation is still growing.
When Prama came to ITEC, their old IT infrastructure was holding them back and slowing them down
With 300 staff working across 12 locations, as well as remotely, they needed suitable and reliable connectivity that was also cost-effective.
ITEC Engineers made this possible by setting up Remote Desktop Services so staff could easily work from anywhere. Continuity was achieved by setting up remote backups to a second data centre and providing a recoverable central IT environment.
We needed a solution that would enable our staff, who are spread across Dorset, often visiting clients, to be able to pick up exactly where they left off when moving from one connection to another."
