Burts Chips

Burts Chips is a Devon-based premium snack company, famous for its delicious range of hand-cooked crisps that have won countless awards. Since launching in 1995, the company has grown significantly and now has 300 staff across two locations and a turnover of £52 million.

They hired ITEC to digitally transform Burts with Managed IT that would help the company achieve its mission and free up key staff, who were previously spending significant portions of their day tackling tech issues, to get back to what they do best.

Upgrading the ‘plumbing’ of the IT, including moving the company’s servers into ITEC’s data centre and establishing a Citrix virtual desktop infrastructure was an intial priority. Later, a major server upgrade got underway and several projects have been carried out, including migrating every team member to Office365.

This has been achieved with a bespoke, future-proof Managed IT plan from ITEC and having two ITEC Engineers on-site at Burts full-time, five days a week, for face-to-face IT support backed up by an army of IT experts available on the phone.

Bristol Sport

Bristol Sport was formed with a single goal in mind: to promote sport in Bristol and beyond.  The organisation oversees the business, commercial and operational interests of its affiliated clubs, including Bristol City FC.

With a new 27,000 capacity stadium opened in 2015, Bristol Sport needed a tech partner that could go above and beyond to tick every box. A consolidated approach to Managed IT at every site was needed, alongside an expert team dedicated to developing new projects like apps for sports fans

Maen Karne are the South West’s leading independent supplier of bagged and loose aggregate, environmental services, and concrete products for commercial and domestic customers with 150 staff across seven locations.

ITEC was brought in to completely overhaul the existing IT system and oversee an IT transformation that would improve the efficiency of staff, boost the security of document handling and bring Maen Karne into the digital age.

This included installing brand new servers, creating innovative solutions to improve connectivity in areas of poor WiFi and a new M-Files system for finding, sharing and securely storing documents. It has also included protection and response to malware attacks. Complete IT training for all staff to enable them to embrace the digital changes was all part of the Managed IT package for Maen Karne.
